Why Is Apartment Maintenance Important?
Keeping a well maintained and clean unit is your responsibility as a tenant. This helps to make sure that a safe and sanitary environment is provided for everyone that lives with us. Things happen though, and we are prepared to help you through unexpected issues!
Being locally owned and operated means that we work closely with our maintenance staff. They are Hunziker employees which means that they are held to the highest standards of tenant care and safety. If you ever are having an issue, our team will be there to help!
What Am I Responsible For?
Make sure to keep a plunger in your unit!
To avoid maintenance charges, be prepared to take care of all routine plunging in your unit. Don’t flush any paper products besides toilet paper- avoid flushing disposable diapers & wipes, sanitary napkins, facial tissue, or cotton swabs!
Light bulbs are supplied for each unit upon move-in.
Replacement of the original bulbs is at your own expense- make sure to keep them with the correct wattage when getting replacements!
Keep batteries in smoke detectors/carbon monoxide detectors!
It is up to you to make sure batteries get replaced when needed and the detectors aren’t disconnected. You will be subject to a service charge for any detectors found disconnected or without functioning batteries!
Make sure to keep track of your keys!
Contact the office if you get locked out of your unit or lose a key for your door, mailbox, or garage. For a fee, we will issue a replacement key or unlock your door. Make sure to keep keys in a safe place to ensure your safety and avoid any unnecessary charges!
What Does Maintenance Take Care Of?
Give us a call when taking an extended vacation or absence!
To avoid any complications during your absence, let us know how long you will be gone. Don’t turn your electricity or heat off and do not set your thermostat below sixty degrees- this can cause freezing or other complications! Letting us know helps keep an eye on things in your absence.
Painting your apartment is prohibited
but call our office or contact your property manager if you are looking to have any alterations done to your unit!
For any non-emergency electrical, leaking water, or mechanical malfunctions please call in during office hours
